Horseshoes was a highlight as usual, and this year the championship trophies were rung up by none other than National Sales Manager Ryan Berrios and Roy Giovannoni.
At 100°F, the floating playground Atlantis, water slides and water sports in the lake all provided a full day of thoroughly enjoyable heat relief. Additional high points included pony rides for little ones, sack races, bingo, piñatas and let’s not forget the finale for our Pushups For Charity™ Challenge!
Oh yes . . . the final push. It was finally time to make good on our pushups, and did we ever. About 100 B-K employees and family members lined up to show our support for active military, veterans and their families and raise awareness to issues they face every day.
Having raised more than $52,000 for the Boot Campaign Pushups For Charity™ fundraiser, folks were excited to get down and get their pushup on. Although we soon discovered that, well ... 90 seconds is a long time to be doing pushups! And now we know. Needless to say, we did it and we did great! After the final pushup was done, employees and their families alike settled in for a scrumptious, down-home BBQ dinner. Followed by a few more hours of paddle boarding, kayaks, foosball and fishing, and our annual picnic came to an end. To all those who worked so hard to treat the rest of us, thank you!
Until next year!
