Through the program, we send boxes of goodies, treats, magazines and other gifts from home ... and send them overseas every month.
The photo shown below is an example of the kinds of items we collect. With the holidays approaching, we included items to help our soldiers celebrate Christmas and the New Year.

In 2011, we provided care packages for as many as three designated military personnel including members of B-K Lighting's extended family.
Human Resources Manager Mary Rogers says her son-in-law, Army Sgt. Troy Michael Sims Jr., would look forward to our monthly gifts from home while stationed overseas.
"He would anticipate them every month and would have such a smile on his face when those packages arrived," says Mary. "It is wonderful to know that our staff are so appreciative of the job being done by these men and women."
Sgt, Sims expressed his gratitude to the B-K Lighting + TEKA Illumination staff in a letter.
He wrote, "Thank you so much for your support. It is greatly appreciated. Knowing that there are people back home thinking about me and supporting me helps me stay positive and motivated."
Sgt. Sims has since returned stateside after completing his tour.
B-K Lighting + TEKA Illumination started the Support Our Soldiers Care Package Program back in 2002 thanks to the efforts of B-K Lighting + TEKA Illumination Executive Assistant Laura Blinn.
"This is something that we used to do for my son when he first joined the military," said Laura. "It's a tradition that I'm happy to see is being carried on by our employees."
