Upsilon ClassPicFlkrLean more about BK-University

Attendees were given factory tours and seminal courses in every facet of B-K Lighting + TEKA Illumination ranging from new products, machining, assembly, custom designs, myths and industry comparisons. Upsilon shined as they learned what sets B-K Lighting apart as the lighting industry's innovative and sustainable leader. Jacqui Canan of Ann Kale Associates, Ltd. exclaimed, "I was SO impressed with BKU. I learned a lot and was able to bring so much new knowledge and enthusiasm back to the office. I am excited to use the new website and hope to keep going in future years."

Students created their very own Nite™ Star with Adjust-e-Lume® technology beginning with a solid billet of pure aluminum. As BKU students made their way through each consecutive course their fixture made its own progress, where it was shipped out to the attendee's home town.

The manufacturing process had a profound impact on attendees and by end of day most had a deep understanding and appreciation of B-K Lighting's mission to bring high quality fixtures to market in an environmentally sustainable way. One student commented that B-K Lighting is "the trendsetter" whereas another said B-K Lighting is "always striving to be better." One rep was heard saying that B-K Lighting is "now at the top of my list" for fixtures while another said B-K and TEKA are "companies America can be proud of."

Perhaps the most moving announcement of the day came from President and CEO Doug Hagen when he addressed over 60+ attendees that B-K Lighting would continue to change the industry as a wholly American-owned and independent company. Hagen further announced that Executive Vice President Ron Naus would be given the reins as the new President of B-K Lighting + TEKA Illumination. Honored and humbled, Mr. Naus pledged to continue the company's 20 year tradition of quality and innovative lighting and concluded that "we will always continue to strive to be the best lighting company in the world."
