Ridgehill Yonkers NY

John Fontillas, a lead architect with H3 Hardy Collaboration Architecture commented on the project recalling,

When Forest City signed WESTMED as the premier office tenant at Ridge Hill, they asked H3 to develop a signature element that would not only identify the public entrance, but would add to the lively, pedestrian-oriented character of Market Street.  Most importantly, they wanted a vital and active evening experience for customers strolling from one end of the center to the other.

Constructed of aluminum tubes suspended within a cement plaster frame, the 60' high structure is a beacon that anchors the southern end of the center. The lighting challenge was to illuminate the entry tower, translucent canopy and pavement without using any uplights or in-grade fixtures.

Marty Salzberg, of Cline Bettridge Bernsteign Lighting Design adds,

There were limited mounting opportunities; the Denali series with dual headed mounting and options for both spot and flood beam spreads addressed several concerns. BKSSL® (LED) was the logical choice for maintenance. The lower output Micro Nite Star™ is mounted to the underside of the canopy structure to light the pavement. The result is a sparkling element that ornaments the Market Street facade.
