By now you’ve most likely seen a note or two from us announcing that our sister company, TEKA Illumination, has been hard at work updating its product line. But we thought we might take a second to give you a brief history of TEKA Illumination before we move forward with even more new stuff.

When B-K Lighting acquired TEKA Illumination, it was the enduring metals that attracted us. The copper, bronze, brass and stainless steel used in the manufacturing of these fixtures meant that they were luminaires that were designed for precision, engineered for efficiency, and most important to many of our customers . . . built to last.

With these enduring metals came the natural process of patina which, over time, turns each fixture into its own unique work of art. Along the seashore, where high humidity and saltwater create a microclimate highly unfavorable to the life of a luminaire, our enduring metals take on a patina rich with verdigris and hues of umbre. In desert climates, where wind driven sand, intense sunlight and temperature extremes fade and abrade any exposed surface, our lifetime materials are transformed into an oasis of beauty. It is here the natural patina is deepest – imbued with sienna tones and bronze and mahogany highlights.

Stunning. Truly.

But many of you had alternate ideas for TEKA. Although you love the high-end copper options, you had some budget-conscious ideas and wanted to be able to customize. In addition, you needed these to be available with our BKSSL® sources instead of the outdated xelogen and incandescent lamps they were using. Well, we heard you loud and clear.

While keeping its gorgeous copper options, TEKA Illumination now offers HIGH LIGHT Series™, ARCADE Series™ and 1130 Path Light™ in copper-free aluminum with BKSSL® sources. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

In the coming weeks TEKA Illumination will continue to release its newly redesigned and technologically updated line of ruggedly elegant fixtures in copper-free aluminum with Power of ‘e’ and Power of ‘L’ sources. For our specifiers it means having the efficiency, good looks and practicality your clients desire, and the design customization capabilities you crave.
