Q: If fixtures are packed with shape-formed cushions, why not package more unit in a single package?
A: We are still bound by the limits of our package carriers. We have an excellent record with 0 concealed damage claims in several years; I can’t even tell you the last time we’ve had one. Putting more in a box poses a risk to damage and could exceed some of the box limitations we have.
Q: What is the efficacy of the Power of L (delivered lumens)?
A: The power of L performs at 100 lumens per watt. Simply put, our 20W power of L module has 2,000 lumens.
Q: When does the patent expire for the knuckle?
A: This question is about our L.O.C.K. and 360HD™ knuckles which has been patented for many years. Without giving away too much regarding our patents, it is safe to say that we have several years left, ensuring we have the toughest and most robust knuckle in the industry.
Q: What does Etendue mean?
A: Despite being a fantastic on-site café that feeds the more than 120 employees on our 5-acre campus, it’s a term that comes from the lighting world, of course. However, etendue is best explained by referring you to the wikipedia page found HERE.
Q: Are TEKA, Star Finishes and Blue Dolphin Design and Engineering under the ESOP as well?
A: The answer is no. Each of those entities have different ownership structures.
Q: How many lumens come from your adjustable fixture – maximum?
A: This question is about our adjust-e-lume board found in all of our 2-¼” products. The maximum delivered lumens is 524 in a 4000K board and narrow spot (NSP) optic.
Q: What is the maximum lumen output on your 3000K board?
A: This question is also about our adjust-e-lume board. The maximum delivered lumens of our 3000K board is 466 lumens using a narrow spot (NSP) optic. Also of note, this package has 6,131 CBCP.
Q: Where are the lenses made?
A: This question is about our glass lenses used in our fixtures. Our flat clear glass lenses come from Cat I Manufacturing in South Elgin, Illinois.
Q: Where are your optic assemblies made?
A: This question is about our optic systems we use in our 2-¼” products such as Nite Star and Delta Star. The optics themselves are from Carclo and the optic holder we designed and injection mold here in Fresno, CA.
Q: Lastly, this is not as much of a question as it is a request/suggestion. It says, “Your HP2 in-grade youtube install video should be listed on the B-K website. When you go to spec info you will find it.
A: This is a great suggestion and we will provide a link to the video that is easily accessible.
