In addition to having great passion for quality lighting from B-K, they also know how to raise a fierce competitor. Meghan has been playing since about 4 years old with her brothers and has always competed in levels a year or two ahead of her age. When she was 14 Northwestern played in the College World Series and Meghan decided she would play for them. Northwestern typically only accepts approximately 2000 students from a 30,000 applicant pool each year but 3 short years later head coach Kate Drohan made the call.
Meghan had over 40 appearances and 14 starts in her first two years at Northwestern and the senior is now headlining the roster. In 2012 she had 43 appearances and an amazing 27 starts in the toughest of circumstances including providing wins over Missouri and full game battles with South Florida, Florida State and Arizona State University. The Wildcats opened their 2013 season with Arizona State on February 8th. Lamberth (who has a 4-3 record with a 2.16 ERA, a batting average of .282 with 2 homeruns this year) along with sophomore Amy Letourneau haven’t given up a single run for the past 17 innings!
The Wildcats are currently battling a slew of teams at the South Florida Under Armour Showcase that includes Saint Joseph’s, Boston University, South Carolina, Massachusetts and Loyola Marymount.
Meghan is in the School of Education and Social Policy; she will graduate with a degree in Learning and Organizational Change with a minor in Psychology. She has hopes to become a Women’s Athletics Advisor or Athletic Director within NCAA Division 1 athletic programs.
