These new additions, a Haas Lathe, a Haas Mill and a Manual Turret Lathe, are helping us to cut costs and production time when it comes to manufacturing parts for our finished goods.

"We can now make a complete part, without having to take it out and go to another machine," says Machine Shop Supervisor Robert Sanchez, "There's no more having to waste two or three sessions to make a Nite Star™ body. It's all one session."

In some cases, these machines can be "lights out" with no operator on hand.

"That gives our operators the chance to work more on custom parts, which will cut down the production time for those specialized finished goods," adds Sanchez.

Here's a breakdown of the new machines:

Haas VF-4 SS Mill With Dual Pallet System/40 Tool Station/High Speed Tool Change
It can switch tools in 1.6 seconds. Its dual pallet system, can work using one pallet while switching parts on the opposite pallet. Its continuous 'run' function is a major time saver.

Haas DS30SSY Lathe
This new machine features a a five (5) foot bar feeder and 24 tool station, as well as, dual spindles and y axis. This 'lights out' machine can manufacture parts completely unmanned, and overnight allowing us to reduce costs.

Manual Turret Lathe
This machine replaces an older model, and decreases production time of aluminum, brass and stainless steel stems.
