B-K Lighting fixtures atop poles bring Little Island to life at night
“As an open-air park, lighting design is critical not only to allow keeping it open after dark, but to support the performing arts program, safety and wellbeing, and the subtle and targeted highlighting of its unique structure and landscaping,” said Enrique Garcia Carrera, associate principal at Fisher Marantz Stone, the design firm tasked with lighting up the great project of Little Island.
Little Island was born in New York atop the Hudson River and opened to the public in 2021. B-K Lighting was fortunate enough to have a small part in bringing this unique urban oasis to life.
“Most manufacturers we approached did not want to venture into producing this complicated design, but B-K Lighting stepped up to the plate and fabricated the pole we designed in various heights and configurations,” said Garcia Carrera.
